Emmett to Curate ‘Nine Lives’ for New Horizon

It can now be confirmed that Emmett will be making a show called  Nine Lives for New Horizon_Architecture from Ireland. Nine Lives will be installed at the Tank, Design Museum from June 1 to June 28 as part of the London Festival of Architecture.  As one of 10 participating architects in the New Horizon initiative, Emmett will make a display in the Tank which presents the built work of the other 9 architects. Working with emerging Irish documentary photographers, Emmett will visit all 9 projects across Ireland in April and May, working to capture new information and photographs which describe the occupation and use of these rooms.

“This installation at the Tank will present for the first time, in parallel, the stories of both the architectural design and the appropriation and use of each space. By weaving these stories together, I propose that Nine Lives will give a unique insight into the social lives of contemporary Ireland, lives lived with and among architecture and design. The architects featured in the Tank are A2 architects, AP+E, Clancy Moore, Emmett Scanlon curator, GKMP, Ryan Kennihan Architects, Hall McKnight, Steve Larkin Architects, TAKA architects and Urban Agency.”
