In 2012 Emmett led a team based at UCD Architecture to carry out a Research Scoping Study in Architecture.
The team was Emmett Scanlon, Hugh Campbell and Paul Kenny. The research, funded following an open call by Government, was intended to map the ‘station of nation’ in terms of research in architecture and built environment in Ireland. The purpose was to use the research to further the development of a research culture in Ireland and to inform future Government Policy on Architecture.
The research report remains unpublished – however in 2017, an application made by AIARG (All Ireland Architecture Research Group) and UCD Architecture has been funded to update the study and publish it.
The updated report will be published in January 2018.
